I was happy to work with Julie Caldwell at Tucker Road Animal Hospital to replace her old sign with the new logo and have it illuminate at night. This is a double-sided sign made from cold-rolled steel, which Hood River High School STEM teacher, Ryan Bahn and student, Josie Cordova laser cut the logo into at the schools amazing metal workshop.
From there, I welded the pieces together, grind everything smooth, and then force-patina with salt, vinegar, and a black oil stain. The cut out parts reveal a translucent white acrylic panel, which is what lights up at night.
